Smallpox (variola) is the most fascinating of illnesses. It used to be so deadly and at the same time it gave its hosts advantage over populations who never before come into contact with it. The story of eradication of Smallpox is extremely interesting. All countries managed to work together and to achieve such a goal in the middle of cold war. And the most sinister reason why is smallpox so fascinating is that it still exists in laboratories of the USA and Russia. We still don't know the end of the story.
